Haliciana Schola Cantorum (HSC) is a non-profit Swiss artistic association, whose aim is building cultural bridges between Western and Eastern Europe through manifold educational and performative art projects. It was modelled after the example of European education and research institutions, in particular Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. The special emphasis of our activities is historically informed performance.
Main directions of HSC’s activities are:
- Research and promotion of historically informed performance among professional musicians and music students in Eastern Europe (with the emphasis on historical region of Halychyna/Galicia)
- Organization of scientific conferences, research actions, and projects regarding the preservation of cultural heritage
- Educational activities and promotion of culture of listening to classical music among the general public
- Manifold social and charitable projects, as well as events for children, where music has an educational function and facilitates cultural initiatives
